Mini-HydroFlex Pro
Hydrogen Reference Electrode
Item number: 81030
HS code: 90303370
Country of origin: Germany
The Mini-HydroFlex Pro is a compact hydrogen reference electrode designed for pressurized electrochemical applications. Its redesigned PP head, top-mounted electrical connection and pressure-resistant 1/4"-28 UNF thread provide improved compatibility and easier handling.
Key Features
- Pressure-resistant
- Industry-standard 1/4"-28 UNF thread
- Top-mounted 2 mm gold-plated electrical contact
- Durable PP head with reduced PTFE usage
- Made in Germany
Material: PP (Polypropylene)
The PP head offers high chemical resistance and durability while reducing the use of PTFE. The material is recyclable and free from PFAS associated with fluoropolymers.
A top-mounted, gold-plated 2 mm contact allows the potential cable to be connected from above, reducing the installation space required in confined setups.
Thread: 1/4"-28 UNF
Recommended Applications:
- ElyFlow cell with PEEK analyte compartment and 1/4"-28 UNF connection thread
- Pressurized electrochemical cells
- Compact installations with limited installation space

Description Reference Electrodes
The platinum-hydrogen reference electrode is the reference electrode of first choice for standard-compliant measurement of potentials.
Platinum-hydrogen electrodes are the only reference electrodes that directly measure hydrogen ion activity.
Our hydrogen reference electrode has a low resistance, so no shielded cables are necessary.
The reference electrode supplies itself with hydrogen gas from an internal source that can be easily replaced.
HydroFlex does not contain any internal electrolyte. This means there is no ion discharge and no diffusion potential. It requires low maintenance because no electrolyte needs to be refilled.
Hydroflex releases no substances other than hydrogen. Therefore, it will never distort your measurement.
HydroFlex does not contain any toxic heavy metals.

Information Mini-HydroFlex
Gaskatel has further developed and reduced the size of the hydrogen reference electrode for applications in confined spaces. The structure and functionality correspond to the hydrogen electrode HydroFlex – just smaller.
Our Hydrogen Reference Electrode (RHE) Mini-HydroFlex can be used in almost any electrolyte.
Common sources of error such as diffusion potentials or contamination of the measuring electrolyte are eliminated. Therefore, Mini-HydroFlex is ideal for corrosion measurements.
Long-term measurements of up to 12 months are also possible without user intervention and the hydrogen cell can be replaced very quickly.
Please note that the hydrogen source continues to work after activation even without performing any measurements!
The Mini-Hydroflex electrode has a 1.6 mm thin electrode shaft.
The platinum/palladium catalyst is located at the lower end of the shaft.
The electrical connection is made via a 2 mm gold-plated contact.

Commissioning of the Hydrogen Reference Electrode Mini-HydroFlex
Comparison of our Reference Electrodes
Handling of Gaskatel Reference Electrodes
(Mini-)HydroFlex is a reference electrode intended exclusively for potential measurement during electrochemical measurements.
It can be used in highly concentrated alkaline solutions, in concentrated acids and even in concentrated hydrofluoric acid or fluoride-containing media.
After the measurement, rinse the electrode thoroughly with water. To ensure the proper functioning of the hydrogen electrode, place it in a liquid (e.g., measurement solution, 1 mol/l hydrochloric acid, 1 mol/l sodium hydroxide solution, water).
Please note that the hydrogen source continues to work after activation even without performing any measurements!
Once the operating time has been reached, the hydrogen source must be replaced immediately. Otherwise, a negative pressure will develop inside the electrode, allowing liquid to enter the interior of the electrode.
